THE CAUSE
Amanda Boxtel, Executive Director for Bridging Bionics Foundation, walks in an Ekso - a bionic exoskeleton suit from manufacturer Ekso Bionics. Funds raised from race2walk2016 will enable Bridging Bionics Foundation to purchase a second exoskeleton suit from a different manufacturer for their local program to enable individuals with mobility impairments to regain mobility, stand up and walk.

Founded in 2014 by Amanda Boxtel, an Aspen, Colorado, ski instructor who experienced a life-changing ski accident in 1992, the non-profit foundation raises funds to purchase bionic exoskeletons that allow individuals with mobility impairments due to neurological challenges to stand up and walk. Using a human/machine interface, motion sensors trigger the exoskeleton – and the user – to take a step. Access to this cutting edge technology, which is typically cost prohibitive, enables individuals with mobility impairments to enhance neuro-recovery and quality of life
Donations made to race2walk2016 are tax deductible and will be earmarked 100% to Bridging Bionics Foundation for the purchase of a bionic exoskeleton suit for their local program. Our target goal is $90,000.
Bridging Bionics Foundation is a Section 501(c)(3) Colorado nonprofit corporation: EIN# 46-2182977.
